ALLPLAN Bridge Tutorials
ALLPLAN Bridge QuickStart Modelling is a series of 5 videos showing how to generate a parametric bridge model (3 span hollow box girder bridge) in ALLPLAN Bridge.
ALLPLAN Bridge QuickStart Modelling
Lesson 1: Axis
The first step is to generate an Axis. The axis can be defined directly in the product in plan and in elevation view separately, using road elements like spiral or arc. The Axis can also be imported using a Land XML file which will be shown in the next lesson.
Lesson 2: Axis LandXML
The first step is to generate an Axis. The Axis can be imported into ALLPLAN Bridge using LandXML file. The import is done via ALLPLAN exchange and collaboration platform Bimplus. The user needs just to Login to Bimplus, create a Project and Upload the LandXML file. Afterwards, the same project and the axis need to be chosen in ALLPLAN Bridge.
Lesson 3: Pier Cross-section modeling
The second step, after the axis is defined, is definition of the parametric cross-section. In this video it is shown how to model the cross-section of the pier. It is a simple concrete rectangular hollow section. The width of the pier is variating along the pier height and therefor a variable for the cross-section width is introduced.
Lesson 4: MG Cross-section modeling
The second step, after the axis is defined, is definition of the parametric cross-section. In this video it is shown how to model the main-girder cross-section. It is a standard concrete hollow box section. In this example the cross-section is variating along the axis. Not only the height but also the bottom slab thickness, web thickness and slope are variating along the girder. In this video the easiest way of introducing such variations is presented.
Lesson 5: 3D Modeling
The next is 3D modeling of the bridge. Once the axis and the cross-sections are prepared it is possible to start with 3D Modeling. In this example the main girder is modeled first and then both piers are generated. If there would be no variations this would be the last step. In this example the cross-section of the main-girder is not constant and also the pier width is variable. In this video it is shown how to generate the tables and then how to assign them to the variables.
