Germany/Munich, June 21, 2011 – The Germany-wide series of specialist seminars from Nemetschek Germany provided solid background information and assistance, examples from practice, and lively discussions on the subject of liability and fees in designing and building in existing assets. In 11 cities from May 3 to June 1, 2011, lawyer Friedrich-Karl Scholtissek, expert for architect law, spoke clearly on the challenges and pitfalls facing architects in renovation, restoration and maintenance work. In addition to HOAI 2009, he explained the obligation to act as trustee and the associated tasks of care and information for architects. The audience was particularly interested in the numerous examples from his legal practice. In parallel, architect Kim Mikschl showed solutions from Nemetschek Allplan in a live demonstration.

"The initial euphoria surrounding HOAI 2009 is over in the architectural world. The time for applying the new rules has begun. Organized events have shown that designers are particularly interested in minimizing liability, particularly with regard to designing and building in existing assets, but at the same time are keen to achieve an adequate fee with regard to the responsible task of designing and building in existing assets," says Friedrich-Karl Scholtissek, lawyer, legal mediator and lecturer in architect law at HafenCity University Hamburg, and lawyer to the Association of German Architects (BDA).

"Thank you for the very informative afternoon and interesting presentations. I have learned a lot for my day-to-day work and am sure that our customers, in particular, will benefit from this," said Stefan Wirth, consultant engineer for BayIkaBau and authorized signatory at architectural firm RRP – Roland Richter und Partner GmbH, after the event in Munich.
