Only software provider for the German AEC market with certified graphical quantity takeoff
The highly desired certificate from the exceptional German company TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH is further evidence of the functionality and software quality of the BIM solution Allplan. The experts from TÜV SÜD have tested the performance of graphical quantity takeoff and correct calculation in accordance with VOB and have now awarded the TÜV-SÜD certificate for software functionality to NEMETSCHEK Allplan for the eighth time in a row. The certificate is awarded in accordance with a defined test catalog based on standards such as ISO IEC 25051 and VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures).
The test by TÜV SÜD was carried out on the basis of selected building elements such as reinforced concrete, masonry, windows and finish specifications which are part of the “intelligent building data” (IBD) in Allplan. This intelligent building data consists of CAD libraries and alphanumeric elements with product ranges and prices. This makes it possible to calculate quantities at item level from the building model designed by the architect in accordance with VOB Part C.
Significance for the Design2Cost planning method
In the Allplan Design2Cost planning method, the CAD platform Allplan is combined with the related cost management and AVA system as well as the intelligent building data (IBD). For architects and engineers who plan their costs using Design2Cost, a reliable quantity framework and automatic quantity takeoff from the building model are particularly important. Costs can be determined accurately. If plans are changed, the quantities can be adapted quickly.
“The TÜV requirements relating to functionality and software quality for graphical quantity takeoff are met by both the building elements of Allplan IBD and by the Allplan 2014 software and building cost planning,” states Siegfried Muckenschnabl, product specialist at TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH.
“TÜV SÜD certification verifies that with Allplan and Design2Cost, we have reliable software tools for planning and construction with reliable costs, and incidentally, we are the only company in the German AEC sector to offer this,” says Michael Kießling, Senior Product Manager at NEMETSCHEK Allplan. “We are particularly proud that we have now received this certificate for the eighth time.”
