Munich, July 1st, 2010 - Regensburg-based E.ON Bayern AG offers private and commercial building owners and municipalities a service through which they can save energy in their building. A comprehensive solution package from Nemetschek Allplan and its partners CS Concept and ESS forms the technical basis for this offer.

The energy-saving service offered by E.ON Bayern comprises a broad range of measures that extend far beyond a mere advisory service. As a first step, private homeowners can carry out a free short energy check for their building at www.eon-energiesparsanierung.de. If they then decide on a more comprehensive analysis, an E.ON Bayern energy consultant looks at the home's weaknesses and potential for improvement in situ, and discusses the customer's requirements in a personal meeting. Comprehensive software packageA comprehensive solution package from Nemetschek Allplan and its partners CS Concept and ESS AG forms the technical basis for this extensive service. As plans often do not exist for homes, the building data is captured with the help of the Nemetschek software On-Site Photo, which creates a digital measurement and if required rectifies photographs accurately.

Buildings recorded in this way are entered into Allplan in 3D. In the next step, energy efficiency is calculated using the ESS Energy Performance Certificate, which is integrated in Allplan. Allplan IBD planning data, which permits an accurate quantity and cost calculation, is used for tendering of the individual improvement measures. E.ON Bayern carries out the tendering process based on the bills of quantity created in this way. E.ON Bayern also uses the Allplan Safety software for the safety and coordination plan during the actual improvement measures.

Seamless solution
"In this project, the decisive factor for us was to have an integrated solution package in which the individual applications work together seamlessly. It was also important to us to have a single point of contact for updates or in the event of problems. Only the Nemetschek Allplan package met these requirements," says Andreas Class from the Application Systems department at E.ON Bayern.

Complete implementation of the solution package took around nine months from the initial contact. "One challenge was that both the field service employees who carry out the condition analysis on site and the staff in the back office, who evaluate the quantities and costs and ultimately create the energy condition analysis, need to be able to use the solution. As a result, it was important for the programs to be consistent and not lead to any data loss," says Norbert Lang from CS Concept, which was in charge of project management at E.ON Bayern. Nemetschek has continued to support E.ON Bayern AG in the project after implementation. For example, joint training units are held regularly with the software system. "Our principle is not just to implement the software, but also to support the project and the customer over a longer period of time. That?s why we have these project days," states Carsten Schmidt, CEO of CS Concept.
