- Training and continuing education in the field of BIM is very important for ALLPLAN
The University of Karlsruhe – Technology and Economics, the Vollack Group and ALLPLAN together have developed a certificate graduate program Building Information Modeling (BIM) that will start in October 2017 at the university's own Institute for Scientific Research. The seminar rooms were equipped with the current software from ALLPLAN and ensure practice-oriented training. The course of studies has been developed for specialists from the construction industry and facility management with a bachelor's degree.
In the construction industry, BIM stands for the global trend of digitalization. The digital working method creates added value in that people, processes and tools work together in a target-oriented manner across the entire life cycle of a building. Construction projects thus gain transparency, quality as well as cost and deadline reliability. BIM is already binding for newly planned public infrastructure projects in many countries. Starting in 2020, it is also to be bindingly used in Germany with all new infrastructure projects to be planned.
"We at ALLPLAN support the training and continuing education in the field of BIM. Therefore we are delighted to make a significant contribution with the new course of studies and to support the introduction of BIM as a national standard," says Karin Schmidt, Head of Education at ALLPLAN.
From the draft to the practical application of BIM
The course of studies is composed of two modules in which the basics of the BIM methodology and the application of the BIM method are taught. Professors of the faculty for architecture and building as well as experts from the field of construction teach in a modern equipped seminar room with the current ALLPLAN software. Participants acquire the necessary qualifications in order to implement the BIM methodology across disciplines in their everyday professional work.
In individual workshops, they learn how to apply BIM from the building draft through all planning and construction phases. Additional contents are taught based on LEAN management: Process optimization, different software systems as well as legal requirements and BIM in facilities management. The course of studies covers ten seminar days and after passing the final examination ends with the certificate from the University of Karlsruhe and the title "certified BIM professional."
