Germany/Munich, March 22, 2011 – After a successful test period, Nemetschek Allplan is now implementing the pilot project phase for the online version of Allplan 2011. Employees at the Müller + Huber architect’s office (Oberkirch, Germany) have started working with the Web-based CAD software and are making their initial assessments. The pilot project is part of the Allplan 2011 Online Initiative. The objective is to provide innovative cloud solutions that support architects and civil engineers in their work and enable them to optimize their business processes.

Flexible CAD architecture for architects and civil engineers: Nemetschek Allplan 2011 Online combines tried-and tested applications with the latest technology. Customers can now access Allplan CAD functionality via the Internet and enjoy many benefits. These include savings in total operating costs through outsourced software infrastructure and services, as well as providing a time-independent and location-independent working environment. The use of mobile devices brings significant benefits in the area of construction site management: This means designers can work in construction site containers just as effectively as they would in the office − without endangering valuable hardware.

"We are very pleased that Allplan functionality is now available online – this can only be good for us. It means our external employees can work continuously from their home offices, making a significant contribution to the success of a project," says Peter Falk, an employee at Müller + Huber.

This Web-based version of Allplan meets the highest security requirements and online communication is certificate-secured. Furthermore, each customer decides for themselves whether to save and manage their data locally or externally. The initial stage of the pilot project provides the Allplan 2011 functionalities to a virtual standalone workplace. There are plans to extend this in stage two, making it possible to work together on projects online via Workgroup Manager.

"Cloud computing fundamentally changes the AEC sector. We are working tirelessly to exploit this opportunity for our customers. Starting the pilot project for Allplan 2011 Online is an important step towards creating a Web-based CAD application," says Peter Mehlstäubler, General Manager of Nemetschek Allplan GmbH.
