Latest update on Solibri Inside: Multiple new checks integrated

reading time 4 min

The model checking software from ALLPLAN's sister company Solibri helps users to create optimum, error-free BIM models, increasing design and project quality to be even more successful in their business. In order to give Allplan users easy access to Solibri Inside functionality, 12 months subscription to Solibri Inside, as part of Allplan Cloud services, is available with new Allplan Subscriptions purchased before 31/12/23. This way, Allplan users can benefit from the many advantages, enabling them to produce accurate interdisciplinary 3D models of their BIM projects.

This blog article gives you an insight and update on the latest innovations in Solibri Inside which has been extended with the following new checks:

1. Fire Exit Existence Check and Accessibility Check

The Fire Exit Existence Check verifies the presence of at least one Fire Exit door on each storey of your building model. Any storeys without a designated Fire Exit door are immediately flagged as errors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The Handicap Accessible Property Check ensures that spaces, ramps, stairs, and doors elements in your BIM model have the necessary information regarding accessibility as specified by buildingSMART. This check helps you identify any elements that require additional accessibility features, allowing you to create more inclusive designs that cater to your needs.

2. Designing for Safety: Solibri Inside's Vertical Clearance Rule Type

Designing safe and user-friendly buildings is always the top priority for every model author. With the powerful new rule type Vertical Clearance, you can ensure that no components protrude into vital circulation areas, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. The Vertical Clearance rule type was developed to proactively address potential weak points in the planning process. By identifying and rectifying any design flaws early on, architects and engineers can guarantee a safer environment for everyone.

Effortlessly check circulation areas, such as corridors and hallways, for any protruding building service components. Simply define the areas to be checked, even if not directly modeled, using IfcSpaces or IfcSlab components. Set the desired clearance height and let Solibri Inside handle the rest.

Solibri Inside's Vertical Clearance rule type, including the Vertical Check, offers a straightforward solution to ensure a minimum clearance height of 2.5 meters for circulation areas.

3. Introducing the new Existence Rule Type check

The new Existence rule type will make it easier than ever to ensure that your models meet requirements for the existence of specified objects in different spatial contexts. It’s particularly useful when you need to ensure that your models meet minimum requirements for specific types of components. With the Existence rule type, you can create new types of checks based on a range of criteria.

By automating the checking process, the Existence rule type also streamlines the modeling workflow. You can quickly and easily check whether your models meet the required standards, allowing you to make any necessary adjustments before finalizing your designs. This means you can work more efficiently and effectively, saving time and resources.

Summary

Created as a solution for designers, Solibri Inside can run checks in Allplan models as and when the user wishes – using palette like functionality, from within the BIM Explorer in Allplan. No longer does the designer need to open other software to perform basic model checking. Solibri Inside ensures that every model can be checked upfront before sharing within the workflow to other team members.
